What happens when I call for an appointment?

When you call, we search across our advisor network for an appointment that suits your needs. Here’s what to expect:

  • Regardless of the reason for your call, the majority of clients will have an appointment when they hang up with our schedulers.
  • We will ask you for basic identifying information, such as address, phone number, and financial concerns.
  • Next, we will ask you a series of questions about your life and money management needs to help find the most appropriate advisor to serve you. In most cases, we’ll be able to schedule the appointment with this information.
  • If you have complex financial concerns or need a specialist, your call may be forwarded to one of our partners. This ensures that your advisor will receive an adequate financial history and other information necessary to give you the best solution.

Shared Holistic Appointments

Advisors and other trusted professionals are always seeking better ways to offer access to high-quality service to clients. That’s why several partners working with Holistic Planners now offer Shared Holistic Appointments (SHAs).

Could I benefit from a Shared Holistic Appointment?

SHAs offer an innovative, interactive approach to life and money management that brings clients with unique needs together with one or more life or money management specialists. While an individual appointment typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, a shared appointment is 2 - 3 hours long, allowing participants to spend more time with the life and money management team. We piloted SHAs more than 10 years ago and now offer them to qualified clients and prospective clients.

What can I expect at a Shared Holistic Appointment?

During a typical SHA, 2 to 3 specialist and your "shared" companion come together in a setting that encourages asking questions and discussing concerns and experiences. Clients learn from the life and money management team and from each other. Our clients have been overwhelmingly satisfied with this program. They enjoy the opportunity to share and collaborate with a team of specialists solely focused on their unique issues. Participants learn from one another and truly create a unified plan of action. SHAs are particularly valuable to people dealing with complex financial issues, such as advance tax planning, retirement income planning, divorce, the sale of a business, and legacy planning. Every advisor has the opportunity to play a significant role. For example, a 60-year-old retiree wasn't sure she was truly ready to retire, but after being motivated by the team and running multiple scenarios with the team, she became much more positive about the future. During shared visits, clients can also be seen in a private forum for individualized planning, as needed.

How to Participate:

  • Talk with your advisor during your meeting about this option.
  • A scheduler may call to invite you if a shared session will address your life and financial concerns.

Who benefits from Shared Holistic Appointments?

This approach is especially beneficial for clients who need the following level of service:

  • Clients needing ongoing follow-up solutions, due to complex life or financial management.
  • Clients seeking more clarity regarding their specific life and money management position.
  • Clients who require total and comprehensive life and money management services; these are typically clients who require additional time with their advisory team.

Shared Holistic Appointments are not appropriate for every client. For example, this program is not designed to:

  • Replace your regular individual visits with other professionals.
  • Be used as a 1-time fix or approach.
  • Solve ALL your life and money management concerns that should be addressed by a specialist over time.

Why are SHA’s beneficial?

The need for a non-traditional approach and higher fiduciary standard has led us to create a new category of Life and Money Management. Shared Holistic Appointments (SHA's) are an innovative way of creating appointment access and an opportunity for improving the quality of service for our clients. A Shared Holistic Appointment is a visit where multiple advisors are seen in a forum, usually for comprehensive life and money management solutions. Clients have the benefit of a longer visit with the primary advisor and when appropriate, access to other members of the life and money management team, such as a life coach, nutritionist, clinician psychologist, estate planning attorney or tax planning professional. Holistic Planners is expanding our use of this service model as a way to deliver high-quality results in an efficient and effective setting that allows you, the client, to have a more meaningful relationship with your advisor and extended team. These sessions provide sharing of information and the answering of questions in an informative and supportive environment. Educated clients have better financial well-being and a Shared Holistic Appointment educates clients. We believe this program will set the standard for life and money management consultations. Each advisor signs a waiver and confidentiality agreement to assure a secure and private environment in which to share personal and financial information. Shared appointments can address the hurdles encountered in the traditional one-on-one client experience: time constraints, complex financial concerns, and lack of collaboration between trusted advisors to name a few. Shared Holistic Appointments last an average of 2-3 hours and include 2-4 specialists. An additional team member serves as a facilitator. This person may be a clinical psychologist, behavioralist or other trusted advisor with expertise on the topic. These visits allow 1 topic or multiple topics to be discussed, such as retirement planning, divorce, the sale of a business or legacy planning. All information that is discussed in the Shared Holistic Appointment is confidential. This program is exclusive to only qualified clients. If you have not experienced a Shared Holistic Appointment, talk to your advisor and see if it is right for you.
